Fun family pictures at the Durham Museum of Life + Science

I spent the morning at one of my favorite places in Durham, The Museum of Life + Science. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day.

My favorite part of this picture is the little hand reaching for the wind chimes.







That is a real butterfly, not a hair clip.


















The trip to the museum ended when a staff member informed us a bear had been sighted on the museum grounds. I thought one of the bears in the museum had escaped, but it was a wild bear. We quickly made our way inside and waited to be released from the museum. It was lunch time, so I went into the gift shop to see what kind of food they had. The choices were astronaut ice cream or chocolate covered grasshoppers. I've been curious about astronaut ice cream since I was a kid, so I tried it. It was not as magical as I dreamed it would be.

Next month it's dinosaurs that will be roaming the museum grounds.
